The Zombie Taipan (ゾンビタイパン Zonbitaipan) is a venomous snake beast residing in the Biotope 8. They can also be found in arid mountain ranges.

Anatomy[]

They have have tiger stripe patterns covering their bodies up to their heads. Their most interesting feature is their "tri-split jaw"; their mouths open into three parts, two divergent upper jaws and a single lower mandible. The lower mandible has two large fangs, while the two upper split jaws have a single fang each. They also have two smaller "flaps" at the left and right creases of their mouths, in which there are another pair of fangs; one in each flap. This design allows them to clamp on as though they were hands, and wrap around the limbs of their prey (such as Toriko) and make it much harder to pull them off by force. They appear to be 1-3 meters in length; when they were attacking Toriko and injecting their venom into him, each taipan was able to make at least two full loops around his limbs, and one to made a full loop around his waistline.

Abilities[]

The Zombie Taipan's venom is so potent that if a bite is not treated immediately, the victim will die in a matter of hours. This snake's poison is very powerful and it is also said that they do not let go of their prey until it dies. Unless, of course, the victim possesses the antibodies for it.

Weakness[]

Zombie Taipans cannot handle acidic smells or smoke, so when capturing one, a Cigar Tree branch is a useful thing to have on hand.

As Food[]

If the snake's poison is extracted, its meat is suitable for consumption. Additionally, its fresh blood commands a high price as a vitality potion.

History[]

Rainbow Fruit Arc[]

When Toriko enters IGO's Biotope 8, The Garden, a group of them are thrown at him as a trap by a Troll Kong.
