Raochutans are a species of orangutan mammal beasts native to Tou-Chinese Island. They appear exclusively in the second Toriko x One Piece Collaboration Special, Episode 51 of Toriko, and one was the special's final antagonist. Due to constant exposure to the Raochu Spring, it is a very drunk beast whose erratic movements make it very unpredictable.

Appearance[]

The Raochutan resembles a very tall, pink-skinned orangutan with gray fur covering most of its body. It has straight gray hair that tends to hang over its eyes, helping to mask its intentions when fighting. Due to its drunk state, it always appears to be flushing. It wears black oriental clothing with gray straps.

Behavior[]

RaochutanDrunkVicious

Its drunk demeanor belies its malicious nature.

Much like the Kung-Fu Mynah Bird and ExPanda that live on the island, it has learned the culture and ways of the humans who once lived on Tou-Chinese Island, and was able to wear clothes and learn the martial arts of Drunken Boxing (Zui Quan). It has a great and deep love for Raochu which it is always seen drinking, but because it constantly drinks from the Raochu Spring, it is always drunk and usually has a mellow expression and a tipsy stance. Despite this, it is a very territorial and vicious fighter that shows no mercy to anyone (no matter how small or weak they are) who tries to approach its Raochu Spring, which it is very protective of, and even apparently getting joy from causing its opponents pain.

Powers and Abilities[]

RaochutanFullPower

The Raochutan after consuming too much Raochu.

The Raochutan is a master of the martial art of Drunk Boxing, making it very difficult to predict its tactics and movements, and combined with its above average speed and strength, it is a very dangerous opponent, capable of dealing swift and powerful blows that can send opponents flying. Its attacks can even harm someone like Luffy whose body is made of rubber, suggesting that it can use Haki. The Raochutan can gain more strength by drinking Raochu from the nutrient-rich leaf of the Mango Karin, when doing so its muscles begin to rapidly expand and its movements become even more erratic. Over drinking with the leaf can cause its skin to turn red and its body mass to expand greatly, making it grow to gigantic proportions.

History[]

Toriko x One Piece Collaboration Special 2[]

When Toriko, Komatsu and Luffy make it to the final floor of the Mush Room tower, they find one of the last two ingredients they need to cure Chopper, the Raochu Spring, but as soon as they approach it, Toriko is swiftly attacked by the spring's guardian the Raochutan, who proves to be quite a difficult opponent with its unpredictability and swift attacks which do quite a lot of damage to both fighters and its attacks keep becoming stronger with the more Raochu it drinks. Komatsu soon notices this but Toriko corrects him that it's not the Raochu that is granting it strength but the leaf it is drinking it with which turns out to be a leaf of the last ingredient, the Mango Karin. They soon increase their effort but are still struggling too much against it and once it knocks them down again, the Raochutan aims for the weakest link, Komatsu, but before it can even touch him, Zebra hearing everything that's been happening sends out a powerful sound bullet all the way from his prison cell which instantly incapacitates the Raochutan. However the Raochutan soon regains consciousness once more and drinks an extra helping of Raochutan which causes it to grow to a gargantuan size. Soon enough Toriko and Luffy charge up their ultimate attacks and deal a finishing combo blow that sends the Raochutan flying straight through the Mush Room and into the jungles below completely defeated.
