Personality[]

He is a serious and very sincere man who gets to the point quickly. He is also very intelligent being able to analyze the situation at hand and know the limits of what can be done, making him somewhat come off as pessimistic when he is just trying to be sincere. Nonetheless he is a man that admires determination and was greatly impressed when Komatsu showed his unbending determination to save the lives of the poisoned victims.

Powers and Abilities[]

Lulubhu's Kitchen Knife Eps 54

Lulubhu's Kitchen Knife.

Being ranked number 22 on the World Gourmet Chef Rankings, shows that Luluhbu is a chef of grand skill and one of the best chefs in the world and is strong enough to be a challenge for the Gourmet Corp. to kidnap. He is also fully capable of preparing Specially Cooked Ingredients without much difficulty like for example the Medicinal Mochi.[2] He has authority over 20,000 employees from his restaurant.

History[]

Melk Stardust Arc[]

He is first mentioned during a conversation between Komatsu and Melk where she shows Komatsu Lulubhu's prized knife which leaves Komatsu in awe.[1]

Autumn Break Arc (Filler)[]

Lulubhu made a request to Melk the Second once again, this time to make him a new knife that can only be made by using a Diamond Figcrystal. Fearing that she won't be able to acquire the fruit on her own, she enlists the help of Toriko and Komatsu to help her get it. Despite its rarity, they find out that the Diamond Figcrystal will be given away as a prize in the 50th Gourmet Service Competition, and so all three enter the competition in hopes of winning the Diamond Figcrystal. Nearing the end of the competition, Pochiko wanting to help her master manages to win the fruit and both gratefully head back to their workshop to finish Lulubhu's knife.

Four Beast Arc[]

When the entire populace of Food Park Plaza was infected by the Four Beast's Green Rain, Johannes made a call to all available chefs to gather at the Gourmet Towers to help prepare an antidote for all who were poisoned. Lulubhu eagerly answered the call and came to help alongside other famed chefs, Tsurara Mama, Damala Sky XIII, Chiru, Sumire and Livebearer. When the group figures out that they might not be able to make enough medicine for the populace, due to their small numbers and the fact that Purple Mochi is a specially cooked ingredient, they were faced with the tough decision of deciding which individuals will get to live. However Komatsu refused, and instead requested to be given time to create a new method of preparation so even normal chefs can make it. Lulubhu and the others couldn't help but be amazed by Komatsu's fierce and noble determination, so Lulubhu and the others agree and call in their chef employees to help in case he succeeds. Livebearer's associate Tylan soon arrives to help stall the poison within the victims to give Komatsu enough time, this leaves Komatsu only 10 minutes to prepare the technique, with this the chefs wish him good luck as he goes off.[2]

Lulubhu's 20,000 employees

After Komatsu successfully simplifies the mochi's preparation process, Lulubhu and the other chefs are amazed at Komatsu's skill and they then prepare to call in their employees from each of their chain restaurants to help in producing Purple Mochi for those affected by the Green Rain. After all the employees arrive, including Lulubhu's 20,000 employees, Komatsu begins explaining the preparation process to them which leaves the others top chefs completely amazed.

Later after the Four Beast is defeated, Lulubhu and the other chefs help to prepare its meat and distribute it to all the people in Food Park Plaza and the world.

Cooking Festival Arc[]

He is shown alongside Moh, Tsurara Mama, Sumire, and other unknown chefs when they enter the Cooking Stadium. He was able to pass the three preliminary events: Triathlon Cooking, Scale Death Cooking and Entire Island Cooking, and was able to reach the Championship Cooking, where his opponent would be Three Eyes Horis. However, the Cooking Festival was inadvertently cut short by the arrival of the Gourmet Corp. who invaded the fest in order to kidnap its chefs. After the Bishokuaki's attack and the fall of the Meteor Spice, Lulubhu is not seen again.

AIR Arc[]

A year and a half later, he was one of the many people who went to the World Kitchen to say their goodbyes to the Four Heavenly Kings and Komatsu before they set off to Gourmet World and he and his fellow chefs promised to cook all the ingredients that they send.

Anime and Manga Differences[]

  • The anime showed him with gray-colored hair while in manga he has brown hair. This inconsistency is likely due to his color scheme not having been revealed at the time, but it was corrected in the anime upon his debut.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being the owner of a traditional Japanese restaurant, his attire and appearance are very western.
  • Lulubhu somewhat resembles The Swedish Chef from the Muppets franchise.
