Hormone Scallion (ホルモンねぎ Horumon negi) is a perennial plant in the lily family with tubular pointed leaves. In early summer, the top of its rachis sprouts a ball of pale green flowers. Hormone Scallion are chewy like hormone beef. They're tasty raw, but braising them over a flame brings out the sweet bitterness particular to onions. It was one of the many ingredients used by Komatsu when he was recreating the Century Soup, although it is not known if this ingredient made it into the final version of the soup.
