Food concentration rules 1

Rules of Food Concentration

Food Concentration (食の神経衰弱 Shoku no Shinkei Suijaku) is a card game played at the Gourmet Casino's Underground VIP area.

The game uses a deck of 56 Gourmet Tasting Cards.

The difficult part of the game is avoiding the Big Miss Cards, which are either dangerous to eat or come with a time limit that is too short to prepare the ingredient.

Rules[]

  1. The card are placed face down and the player turn them over two at time.
  2. If you get the same ingredient it's a hit then you can eat the ingredient and gain the points printed on the card.
  3. If the ingredient cards don't match it's an out and now your opponent's turn.
  4. To score for a hit, you must prepare and completely eat the ingredient, all within a time limit equal to its point value in minutes. In the case of a beast, this preparation includes defeating it in battle. If you fail or concede, it's a give up. The points go to the opponent and you lose your turn.
  5. If you give up twice in a row you LOSE.
  6. If you draw out ten times in a row you LOSE.
  7. A player that completely eats a hit can play another turn; however, players are limited to three turns in a row.
  8. A player can take up to five minutes after successfully eating a hit before their next turn to regain focus and allow for proper digestion.
  9. Successfully hitting and eating a joker ingredient allows you to trade an ingredient of yours with one of the opponent's. Each player must then consume their new ingredient as they would for a hit to score for it; otherwise it counts as a give up and the points go to the opponent instead.
  10. When all the ingredients have been played, the player with the most points is declared the winner.

However, in the case of the match against Livebearer, Coco realized that Livebearer usually didn't win by points but by virtue of his opponents giving up on the dangerous Big Miss Cards ingredients in his particular deck. Coco skillfully turns the tables on him in their match, eventually making Livebearer have to eat a Poison Potato to win, which he couldn't due to earlier ingredients neutralizing his ability to survive the ordeal. Livebearer was forced to give up and forfeit the match in order to save himself.
