The Troll Kong (トロルコング Tororu Kongu) is a giant four-armed species of gorilla beast that rules over the IGO's 8th Biotope and are the keepers of the Biotope's prized ingredient the Rainbow Fruit. They are a species with near human level intellect, making them not only strong but intelligent as well and even have a social hierarchy with ranks and important roles to maintain.[1]
Anatomy[]
Their fur is teal, while their exposed skin and face are a pale pink color. They have large and buff muscular bodies but their most unique trait is their four arms which are considerably powerful. All of the Troll Kongs within "The Garden" were shown to have multiple scars from fighting with each other, probably to prove themselves dominant over their fellow Kongs. Some Troll Kongs also have unique hairstyles, such as mohawks, buzzcuts or wavy straight hair to likely show off their individuality. The Troll Kong's hair turns white as they age and upon reaching old age they become a Silverback Troll Kong.
Behavior[]

They are carnivorous mammals who live in a pack in the IGO's Eighth Biotope around the Rainbow Fruit Tree; using it's alluring scent as bait to attack the animals drawn to it, therefore acting as the fruit's protectors to protect their own way of life. They can be quite feral and vicious to their prey and those who try to enter their territory. They will try to scare intruders off by banging their chests with their fists, creating a loud thundering sound, but if the intruder still refuses to leave, the Troll Kongs will show no mercy and will relentlessly attack their foe until they're killed. They can distinguish the weak from the strong simply by smell alone, however this may prove to work against them for if strong predators mask their scent the Troll Kongs will be unable to sense their true strength and recklessly risks their lives fighting it. Despite this, the Troll Kongs are said to posses behavior and intellect somewhat similar to humans, and their impressive intelligence even allows them to make and use tools and create traps, displaying a great deal of ingenuity and cleverness.
Hierarchy[]
They are shown to have a ranking system which ranges from the weakest of their kind (which act as scouts and are the first to attack), their stronger fighters (which defend their main territory and nests) and their leader, the Silverback. The Silverback is an elder Troll Kong and the leader of the group and relays orders to them from afar and only fights the strongest prey. It has a greater sense of danger than normal Troll Kongs and knows how to avoid it and it is shown to be approximately 3 times larger than an average Troll Kong. The Troll Kongs' strict hierarchy gives the Silverback complete and total authority over all. Also of note is that if the Silverback is subdued so will the rest of the Troll Kongs.
Despite their strict hierarchy, it is allowed for Troll Kongs to make personal individual decisions (such as those relating to their hair which they like to style in unique ways) and such decisions are respected, making them not that much different from people and it helps to show off their individuality. Powers and Abilities[]

The Troll Kong is referred to as the strongest primate of all by some, though this is probably a misnomer; as there have been gorillas shown that far outclass them in both strength, level and size in both the Human World and the Gourmet World.[3] It may simply mean that they are the strongest of IGO's artificially created gorillas.
They all have six limbs and make use of their extra pair of limbs when in combat. By using their lower arms for balance, they can strike from awkward and unique positions and even attack prey/foe who dodged the first attack from their forward set arms and catch it off-guard. A child Troll Kong can easily flip over a tank.
They are also highly intelligent and dangerous; using traps and tricks to lure prey or foes to their demise and can easily set up ambushes, showing a great deal of teamwork and camaraderie.
As Food[]
Their meat is sinewy and inedible, as such it holds no value as food. However, their brains are considered a delicacy by a select few aficionados and 100 grams can go for about 5,500 yen.
History[]
Rainbow Fruit Arc[]
After Toriko and Komatsu entered the 8th Biotope in order to retrieve a Rainbow Fruit for Johannes on the IGO's behalf, they were confronted by a Troll Kong scout when it was scouting the gate of the 8th Biotope. It was able to set a trap for Toriko and Komatsu when it spotted them coming through the gate. As the trap succeeded in briefly trapping Toriko, it made its move and tried to kill Komatsu with giant boulders. Luckily, Toriko was easily able to escape and use a Knocking Gun to paralyze it. However the creature vomited over Toriko, which ended up masking his mighty scent with its weakling scent. Later when Toriko and Komatsu got close to where the Rainbow Fruit was located, there was a band of Troll Kongs waiting for them who instantly became hostile towards the trespassers, and Toriko was unable to intimidate them due to his scent being masked by the Troll Kong's vomit. He was then forced to use his Knocking Gun to paralyze most of the band, but due to their large numbers he was slowly being overwhelmed, luckily Komatsu was able to spot the Troll Kong leader, the Silverback who if beaten would likely stop the Troll Kongs coordinated attacks. When Toriko finally reached the Silverback, rain began to fall cleansing Toriko of the weakling smell and he was able to use his intimidation to subdue the hostile Silverback and tame the entire band of Troll Kongs, allowing him to capture the Rainbow Fruit. Despite his victory, he only took one fruit as to not upset the Troll Kongs' way of life.
Puffer Whale Arc[]
The Troll Kongs of the 8th Biotope were slaughtered to near-extinction by the Gourmet Corp. during their infiltration of the Biotope in order to procure the Rainbow Fruit. The incident was soon reported to the IGO's greatly shocked Board of Directors, along with the reports of other biotopes having their contained animals suffer a similar fate.
Regal Mammoth Arc[]
A Troll Kong was seen in the Gourmet Coliseum battling a Galala Gator as part of the facility's test to measure its strength and gather income from the spectators in the match. After a rough battle, the Troll Kong came out victorious and won the match. A Silverback also participated in a match against a Battle Wolf along with some other beasts, however it and the other beasts were killed by a drugged out Devil Serpent in the coliseum which had accidentally been sprayed with Battle Fragrance by Rin a few moments earlier.
Four Beast Arc[]
During the "Four Beasts" rampage in the Human World, the 8th Biotope was attacked by the "Four Beast" Gaoh devastating most of the environment. What became of the remaining Troll Kong population and the Biotope's current state is unknown.
Cooking Festival Arc[]
After the fall of the Meteor Spice, much of the Human World's resources were destroyed leaving many of its environments and animals destroyed. It is likely the Troll Kongs and the Rainbow Fruit were also brought to a critically endangered status or extinction.
Appearances in Other Media[]
Toriko Jump Special[]
The Troll Kong makes a cameo appearance in the Toriko Jump Special OVA at the ending credits Sono Na wa Toriko. In the first half of the credits, it is seen chasing Komatsu along with another group of beasts and in the second half of the credits it seen in a cage in the 1st Biotope lab with Rin.
Toriko 3D Movie[]
The Troll Kong makes another cameo appearance in Toriko 3D Movie: Kaimaku! Gourmet Adventure!!, in the ending credits The Sharing Song: Toriko no Theme, which shows an animated scene from the Fruit Of Rainbow Arc, depicting a Troll Kong scout and Toriko fighting.
Toriko: Gourmet Survival[]
Troll Kongs appear as enemies in the PSP game Toriko: Gourmet Survival, early on acting as the strongest enemies of their areas on Megamori Island, but as the game progresses they become less of a threat. Stronger subspecies of Troll Kongs also appear in the game, such as Troll Kong "Endemic Species" and Troll Kong "Rare Species" which boast a higher CLVL and difficulty than their weaker cousins. Silverbacks also appear in the game.
Toriko: Gourmet Survival 2[]
In Toriko: Gourmet Survival 2 for the PSP, Troll Kongs appear once again as enemies early on in the game. They appear in the Table Prairie of the Gattsuki Continent. Once again their subspecies appear in the game and have received new names, the Gang Kong and the Outlaw Kong. Silverbacks also appear again as well with their own subspecies, the Dread Silverback. The Troll Kong, Gang Kong, Silverback and Dread Silverback can be found in the Table Prairie, while the Outlaw Kong can be found in the Freezer Ice Field. They mainly attack by punching and throwing large boulders.
Toriko: Gourmet Monsters[]
The Troll Kong appears in the Nintendo 3DS game Toriko: Gourmet Monsters. It is one of the many enemies and tamable beasts in the game which the player can use for coliseum battles.
Toriko: Ultimate Survival[]
In Toriko: Ultimate Survival for the 3DS, Troll Kongs appear as enemies inhabiting Four Seasons Island and their subspecies and attack pattern from past games return as well.
Merchandise[]
The Troll Kong has been featured prominently in merchandise, having been featured in a line of miniature figurines, keychains trading cards, and many other pieces of merchandise and it has also appeared in every single Toriko video game to date.

- Despite their meat being considered inedible in the anime and manga, the video games show that cuts of their meat are edible.[4]
