The Baron Bison is a carnivorous bovine beast that appeared exclusively in the original Toriko pilot, Oneshot 2002 as the main antagonist and hunting target of the story. In the story, it was this creature that gave Toriko his three distinctive scars.

Anatomy[]

The Baron Bison is a large vicious-looking bison with almost demonic facial features. Having two curled horns on its head, eleven small spikes on its forehead, a long snout that always appears to be furrowed, pitch black eyes with bright pupils and a mouth full of sharp teeth that always has a sinister-looking grin. Its body is quite large and has two shades of colors, with its torso being lighter in color and having a large hunched back, and its rear being a darker color with three long whip-like tails with spiky tufts at the end of each. It also appears to have cloven hooves divided into three parts rather than two.

Behavior[]

It is a very feral and territorial beast that will attack just about anything that catches its view, making it dangerously feral and unpredictable. It is also not familiar with the emotion of fear due to being the top predator in its environment and never knowing anything stronger than it. This can make it quite brash and foolishly attack opponents that can overpower it.

Powers and Abilities[]

Barobison バロ バイソン

The Baron Bison's capture level.

The Baron Bison is a strong beast capable of immense strength and versatility in battle, doing everything it can to subdue an opponent, and it is classified as a capture level 19. It can ram prey with impressive speed and its jaws appear quite strong as well. It is strong enough that it can give an ace bishokuya like Toriko a tough time. It can also use its tail like whips to attack opponents from behind and the spiky tufts at the end of its tails are sharp enough to make permanent scars. The Baron Bison a very voracious appetite and a good sense of smell, which helps it seek out any prey it hungers for.

As Food[]

Its meat has a sweet layer of fatty juices that shine brightly and really enhance the taste of the meat. Its meat can be cooked over an open fire, but grilling it really helps to preserve the meat's juices and bring out the flavor.

Oneshot 2002[]

After the IGO requested that Hotel Gourmet host a party for them, the hotel's head chef, Komatsu sought the aid of the famous hunter Toriko to capture the Baron Bison in order to serve its meat at the party. After Komatsu invited Toriko to the hotel, he was able to convince him to take on the job in exchange for some of its meat. The duo then took a helicopter to the Baron Bison's habitat and after many deadly encounters with other beasts, the duo finally found the Baron Bison, although to be precise the beast found them using its heightened sense of smell. The Baron Bison then battled Toriko in a fierce battle and managed to give the experienced hunter three nasty scars on the side of his face with its sharp whip-like tail. But in the end Toriko was able to gain the upper hand by intimidating the beast into seeing him as fearsome dinosaur and with its guard down, Toriko used his "Fork" and "Knife" technique to slay the beast. Toriko and Komatsu then enjoyed its meat and Komatsu became amazed with his skills and the taste of the meat. The next day Toriko ate the whole beast himself much to Komatsu's annoyance.

Trivia[]

  • In the main story, Toriko is born with his three scars.
