Barbarian Monkeys are vicious monkey beasts who reside in the lands near Teran Plains.

Anatomy[]

Art025

Barbarian Monkeys are short simians with brown fur and purple skin. They have long tails and lanky limbs, as well as large, pink, pig-like noses with a single large nostril. They have small yellow eyes and small sharp teeth.

Behavior[]

They usually hunt in groups and will pursue their prey relentlessly, however, they appear to be somewhat cowardly as they will instantly stop pursuing their prey once a stronger beast sets its eyes on the same prey; they fear the might of the vicious Mammoth Bear.

Powers and Abilities[]

They attack in groups and are only dangerous in numbers and are still considerably weak creatures with a mere capture level of 3.

History[]

Toriko 3D Movie: Kaimaku! Gourmet Adventure!![]

In the film, Toriko and Peck encountered these creatures while on their search to hunt down the Mammoth Bear. However they were shocked to the monkeys completely avoid them, as they were actually running away from the more fearsome Banborows.

Anime and Manga Differences[]

  • In Oneshot 2007 they are shown with tails, but in Toriko 3D Movie: Kaimaku! Gourmet Adventure!!, they are shown without ones.

Appearances in Other Media[]

Oneshot 2007[]

Barbarian Monkeys first appeared in the second Toriko pilot chapter Oneshot 2007. In it they had the same role as in the film where they were simply fleeing from Banborows.

Toriko: Bakushoku Gourmet Battle[]

Barbarian Monkeys appeared in the online game Toriko: Bakushoku Gourmet Battle as huntable enemies. They also had a new Barbarian Monkey subspecies (バーバリアンモンキー亜種, Bābarianmonkī ashu) which was gray in color and had white mane.
